The Charmed Life

The Charmed Life is provided by Wide Interval LLC. This policy explains what stays on your device, what information is processed for purchases, and the choices available to you.

You do not need an account to use the app. There is no sign-in, no email collection within the app, and no user profile stored on our servers.

What we collect

Data that stays on your device

Your reading history, the Pattern, settings, and the record of your free readings are stored locally on your device, using SQLite or local storage. Your readings are not sent to us. The app’s content is bundled with the app, and the app makes no network calls of its own. Purchase services and web pages opened from legal links are described below.

Sightings, photos, and notes

If you record a sighting, the note you write and any photos you choose from your photo library are saved on your device, in the app’s own storage. Photos are copied into the app; the app opens your photo library only when you choose to add a photo, and it does not use the camera. None of this is sent to us or to any third party. Sightings, notes, and photos are removed when you delete the app.

Your device’s own backup, such as iCloud Backup on iPhone or Android’s automatic backup, may include the app’s stored data, including sightings and photos, depending on your device settings. Those backups are held by Apple or Google, not by us.

Purchase data

We use RevenueCat to support purchases. When you open the paywall or Settings → Patronage, or buy or restore a purchase, the RevenueCat software in the app sends RevenueCat:

RevenueCat processes this information on behalf of Wide Interval LLC as our data processor. Payment is handled by Apple or Google. Wide Interval LLC never sees your payment card details.

The app offers monthly and yearly auto-renewing subscriptions and a gift-only lifetime unlock. Prices displayed in the app come from the stores.

What we don’t collect

The app has no analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs). It does not collect advertising identifiers or location data, access your contacts or camera, or use notifications.

The anonymous identifier used by RevenueCat supports purchase processing; it is not an account you create with The Charmed Life.

Third parties

Apple and Google handle store payments, and RevenueCat verifies purchase information. Their privacy policies explain how they handle information:

Privacy and Terms links in the app open web pages in an in-app browser sheet. Visiting those pages is subject to the hosting website’s own privacy policy. Device-only storage of your readings does not mean that visiting a linked website happens offline.

Your choices

You can delete your readings on your device through Settings → Reset → Erase all reading history. This acts on your locally stored readings and does not delete sightings.

You can delete a single sighting, with its note and photos, from that sighting’s screen (Delete sighting), or delete every sighting, note, and photo through Settings → Reset → Delete all sightings. These act on your locally stored sightings.

You can manage or cancel your subscription through the Apple or Google store account used for the purchase.

To request deletion of RevenueCat data associated with your use of the app, email hello@wideinterval.com. A deletion request to Wide Interval LLC covers RevenueCat data; it does not delete purchase records held by Apple or Google. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat hold purchase records under their respective retention rules.

Children

The Charmed Life is not directed at children under 13. The app does not use an age gate.

If we update this policy, we will publish the revised policy on this page and update the date shown above.
